Eclipse of the sun

Today many Americans saw the eclipse of the sun.  Here in East Tennessee it rained and it was just another overcast day.  I wanted to see it.  My husband even made a pin-hole box to watch the moon move over the sun.  It was a regular day and I wanted it to be special.

I did what any other art quilter would do—I went fabric shopping.  I did need backing fabric for my second Southern Highland Craft Guild quilt.  I chose a very busy, hot pink flowered piece that would hopefully hide any quilt stitches that might go astray.  Going to the quilt shop always brightens my mood.  With all of those bright bolts of fabric, my mind dances in happiness.  It’s better than a kid in a candy shop.

The next eclipse of the sun here won’t be for decades.  I can go to the quilt shop anytime I want to.  I might go back tomorrow.
